What is the cost for an Illinois Concealed Carry License?

$150 for 5 years for Illinois residents

$300 for 5 years for out-of-state residents

How does a citizen apply for an Illinois Concealed Carry

License?

The ISP will make applications available to the public by

January 5, 2014. The ISP intends to have applications available

via the ISP webpage. Additional information regarding the

application and fingerprinting process will be added to this

website at the time applications are made available.

Fingerprinting fee $55 – will be offered at time of class

SCENARIO(S) YOUR ENVIRONMENT MAY EXPOSE YOU TO. OUR TEAM OF

YOU INSIGHT ON THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION TO DETER VIOLENCE,

HIGHLIGHT THEIR EXPERIENCES AND PRESENT STEP BY STEP LEGAL

RECOURSE(S) TO ENSURE YOU STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF

CONCEAL & CARRY LAWS.

16 (8) – HOURS CCW CURRICULUM

Initial Firearms Curriculum must be at least 16* hours of in-person instruction and cover

the minimum

requirements listed below.

1. Firearm safety; Minimum 2 hours Classroom

______ a. 4 basic firearm handling safety rules

______ b. Home storage

______ c. Vehicle storage

______ d. Public Storage

2. Basic principles of marksmanship; Minimum 3 hours Classroom/Range

______ a. Stance

______ b. Grip

______ c. Sight Alignment

______ d. Sight Picture

______ e. Trigger Control

3. Care, cleaning, loading, and unloading of a concealable fi

rearm; Minimum 3 hours Classroom

______ a. Gun identification: revolver, semi-automatic, misc.

______ b. Ammunition identification and selection

______ c. Safety and cleaning protocols

______ d. Cleaning equipment

______ e. Loading and unloading

4. All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a

fi

rearm; Minimum 4 hours Classroom

______ a. The Act in its entirety,

1) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful

interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed fi

rearm.

2) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking

lot exception.

______ b. The FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/1 et. seq.

______ c. Relevant portions of the ILCS including but not limited to

1) 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person**

2) 720 ILCS 5/7-2. Use of force in defense of dwelling**

3) 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Use of force in defense of other property**

4) 720 ILCS 24/1 et. seq. Unlawful Use of Weapons**

Must define dwelling, aggressor, forcible felony and unlawful use of weapons pursuant to the ILCS.

5. Weapon Handling; Minimum 4 hours.

______ a. Dry fire practice drills, handgun fundamentals

______ b. Dry fire practice drills from concealment

______ c. Live fire practice drills, handgun fundamentals

______ d. Live fire qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of minimum of 30 rounds which

must

include 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards; 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards; and 10 rounds

from a distance of 10 yards at a B-27 silhouette target approved by the Illinois State Police. (See

3-HOUR RENEWAL CURRICULUM

Renewal Firearm Curriculum must be at least 3 hours and include:

1. All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a

firearm; Minimum 2 hours Classroom; and

______ a. The Act in its entirety,

1) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful

interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm.
